As this year wraps up – and I’m still trotting towards the finish line next Monday – I’ve been thinking about all the conversations I’ve had with clients.
And zooming out to the bigger worldview, about the challenges we’re facing as a society in Australia and beyond.
I think about the responsibility we have when we communicate with the intention of being heard:
The responsibility of our words and tone – it’s immense.
It’s not about:
- Sounding impressive.
- Using perfectly correct grammar or vocabulary.
- Even how many ‘um’s’ slip out.
And it isn’t even about charisma.
The responsibility we have when we communicate with intent is to set the tone, focus and direction.
Leaders set the tone – in creating safety or warnings, steadiness or agitation, connection or distance.
And we’re all leaders, even if our circumstances mean that we’re mainly about leading and connecting with ourselves.
Looking inwards. Your ability (and willingness) to connect with your:
- Self (are you breathing in enough oxygen? Feeling your feet?)
- Content (especially if it’s unfamiliar or tedious).
- Audience (even if they’re challenging!).

Then focusing outwards again:
The ripple effect of good, safe communication is about connecting us – and I’m sure you’d agree with me that it matters more than ever.
Seeing my clients step up, be heard, and stand out – at whatever level they choose…this is what’s so wonderful about my work.
And I’m SO lucky to be able to do it.
In 2025, celebrating some of my clients who are connecting:
- Healthcare, construction and technology professionals
- Scientists and lawyers
- Interior designers and university lecturers
- Engineers and safety experts
- Property and workplace specialists
- And the public sector right across Australia.
So as I wrap up this year – If I’ve worked with you personally, thank you for choosing me to be part of your journey.
And whether we’ve connected personally yet or not, I wish for you all the possibilities and goals you hope for yourself in 2026.
